DRAWING WITH KNIVES SHADOW PUPPETRY
A Tkaronto/Toronto based group of queer/trans/2spirit artists, working in large-scale shadow puppetry.
Drawing With Knives brings together large-scale shadow puppetry with elements of music and narration. Exploring central theme of birth, death, identity, intergenerational trauma, (and more!) through the marvellous enchanting world of shadows.
Drawing With Knives recent work:
- “Cobechenonk Canoe Shadow Show” with the Balance Bringers and Eternal Ashes. A shadow puppetry show on the Cobechenonk/Humber River, with audience members in canoes.
- “IN UTERO OUT” in SummerWorks Performance Festival. A week-long run of a 45min shadow puppetry show exploring 3 distinct intergenerational birth-related tales
- “THE DAY YOU DIED AND THE HOUR YOU WERE BORN” in the Rhubarb Festival, a 25min mainstage performance.
See us around town, in parks, arts venues, and miscellaneous events.
